Liquid simulation in 3D

3D can simulate phenomena such as, gravity, liquid, and gaseous material

3D can simulate phenomena such as liquid material

The new techniques in the field of pre-visualization represent a paradigm shift for the manufacturing process.  By incorporating these new technologies, companies both large and small are able to go from idea to product cheaper, faster, and with more feedback from the consumer.

Reasons to use Technical 3D Animation

1. Quickly, visually, communicate complex concepts and interactions.
2. Strip away an object’s outer layer revealing the inner workings of an assemblage.

3. Simulate phenomena such as gravity, liquid, and gaseous material properties.

4. Correctly represent the surface properties of physical objects.

5. Add animated informational graphics like arrows and numbers.

6. Visualize at the either the micro or macro scale.
7. Manipulate temporal events by either slowing down or speeding up for better understanding of a process.
8. Visualize objects that can’t be normally seen.

3D visualization can be more cost effective than photography with products that can be made using multiple finishes or materials. It’s a fairly simple procedure to change a material on a 3D modeled object once the model is created. Whereas bringing multiple prototypes of a decent sized product to a photography studio for photos could be time-consuming. cumbersome, and costly. With today’s photo-realistic 3D rendering techniques it’s often possible to save effort, time, and money with a 3D rendering. In addition, lighting can be fully and easily controlled within a 3D virtual environment.

3D representation(s) of your environment, products or services help consumers and key stakeholders interact with, and visualize, important information. These techniques make it easy for your audience to understand abstract concepts and complex data. They’ve also been shown to help viewers retain information, as they are more immersive than print or broadcast media.

A 3D Web App  like the control box shown here is a great way to engage prospects because not only does the animation command attention, but its interactive features allow viewers to examine details, as they rotate and explore the package from all sides.

Each of the blue pins in the bar chart below reveals hidden information.

In order to simplify complex subjects, it’s best to allow the viewer to “dig deeper” on demand to find what’s relevant for their interests.

Our 3D Animation Studio can create photo-real products before they exist.

Eliminate unwanted reflections and other challenges in the photo studio using 3D photorealistic illustration

Using our principles of 3D Animation we have found that re-purposing CAD files wit the ability to photo-realistically visualize reality in 3D can often be the best, and sometimes the only way, to truly demonstrate how a product works or what the final product will look like. 3D pre-visualization can help a company show the inner workings of a product. It can also be used to demonstrate processes that would be extremely challenging to capture in video, like those involving gas and liquids. In 3D, time may be slowed down or sped up to show a process that may be too fast to perceive or would be tedious to watch in real time.  It has the ability to bring the most microscopic detail or the largest scale idea to a level where it can be observed and understood.

When Paul Lipsky, a 3D artist, started Mindyolk Technical Animation Studio in 2007, his focus was on the tail end of the manufacturing process, namely marketing and consumer materials.  But with advancements in CAD software and pre-visualization, now manufacturers use his 3D pre-visualizations to build new products. This latest wave of technological innovation and production tools makes it easier to bring new products to market faster.  With a focus on 3D Pre-visualization before manufacturing, these new tools are providing cost effective options for manufacturers and allowing for experimentation in design and material. Now, more than ever before, his 3D skills are in demand from the very beginning of the design process.

Our 3D Animation Studio can create photo-real products before they exist.

3D illustration eliminates unwanted reflections that are always a challenge in the photo studio.

Our client Lamiroult Advertising & Design needed a quick turnaround advertisement for the Consumer and Electronic’s show CES.  The ACCU.C is a body camera product optimized for the Verizon Network that needed to be shown during CES despite the fact that it did not exist yet.  Our 3D Animation studio converted our client’s CAD file into our 3D animation software. Using various lighting and texturing techniques we rendered a photo-real picture that was then placed within their ad and displayed at their tradeshow booth.

Leveraging CAD to Create Precise Animated Videos.

Get a higher return on investment when you repurpose CAD files to create powerful 3D marketing and training videos.

As a manufacturer you probably have thousands of man hours invested in your CAD/CAM files to ensure accurate design intent through Geometric Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T) standards. You can get a higher return on investment when you repurpose them to create powerful 3D marketing and training videos. Combining your CAD/CAM files with 3D animation offers powerful visualization tools.

Here’s one way to use your newly created animation from your CAD/CAM files–post them to your YouTube channel while embedding links back to your website. 3D Cutaway Illustration of a Manufactured Product

Sea Eagle Canoe Cutaway Illustration

Have you ever wished you could photograph the inner workings of your product?

No other medium can accomplish this visually, while keeping everything structurally accurate.

Dan Dejkunchorn, General Manager at Sea Eagle Boats, Inc., came to us with just a vision.

“The ability to closely examine the product from every angle, down to the tiniest details of material texture, is priceless. It is too costly and physically impractical to get a product of this caliber and price point into every potential customer’s hands. However, Lipsky’s creation makes this interactive experience possible and readily available to all of our customers at the touch of a finger.”

MindYolk Technical 3D Animation reveals what makes this drop-stitch material special. In this example, the 3D illustration shows cross-sections of the canoe while it is still inflated. It would be impossible to photograph this, but using one of the many visual tools 3D offers, we brought to life the inner workings of the canoe as if it were still fully inflated. No other medium can accomplish this visually, while keeping everything structurally accurate.

This photorealistic 3D illustration shows why drop stitch construction works so well. Thousands of tightly woven threads, from top to bottom, make this inflatable canoe stable and rigid, while still weighing less than other materials. When viewing the illustration, customers can appreciate the properties of drop-stitch, including protective layers and other features.

Dejkunchorn is also pleased with the quality of service the MindYolk team provides. He especially praised the CEO: “Paul Lipsky is one of the most professional and pleasant persons in the industry I’ve ever had the honor to work with. His positive demeanor and ‘never say never’ attitude is something we’ve come to rely on. There’s nothing he can’t figure out, no problem he can’t solve, and his incredible work ethics and drive are something we all can learn from. Paul continues to push the boundaries of his skill level in the industry in the most positive direction.”

For Dejkunchorn, 3D illustration is of tremendous value. “The cost of Paul’s work was more than paid off in just the first month,” he said.
